Team Canada begins its quest to qualify for the FIBA AmeriCup 2025 with a home-and-home with Nicaragua in the opening window of qualifying.
Canada touts a 14-man roster that includes several familiar faces, including previous collegiate standouts like Kyle Wiltjer (Gonzaga) and Kyle Alexander (Tennessee). The coaching staff is driven by previous Indiana Pacers head coach Nate Bjorkgren, who leads a team of three assistants.
Canada has played in each FIBA AmeriCup, qualifying for the occasion on all 19 occasions.

When are the FIBA AmeriCup 2025 Qualifiers?

The FIBA AmeriCup 2025 Qualifiers is composed of three two-game windows to be played among sixteen teams all through the following 12 months, beginning this week.
Canada begins play with a home-and-home series in the opening window with Nicaragua.
The three highest-placed teams from each gathering shall qualify for the FIBA AmeriCup 2025 including the Host, Nicaragua.

Team Canada is in Gathering C, along with Dominican Republic, Mexico and Nicaragua.
Since Nicaragua is the host country for the FIBA AmeriCup 2025, it will automatically qualify for the occasion. That leaves Canada, Mexico and the Dominican Republic vying for the two final spots from the gathering, awarded to the highest point-getters.
